DRS UK has a strong Engineering Development Team which is centric to business operations in Farnham. The team is staffed by highly experienced Engineers who have a great deal of experience in defence electronics and maintain a commercial agility and focus on leading edge technology. Their resumes document high academic achievement coupled with important practical hands-on experience of providing defence systems solutions and electronic hardware.

With specialists in the disciplines of Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Design with EMC and Environmental we are able to advise in all of these areas. As you would expect we invest heavily in providing our Engineers with state-of-the-art toolsets. Solid modelling systems link directly with our suppliers to provide seamless and accurate component manufacturing. Integrated thermal analysis and modelling provide accurate predictions backed up with physical design proving tests. The use of rapid prototyping techniques is extensive providing the ability to produce functional models early in the design cycle and to work with customers on refinement of specifications.

Product design capabilities are wide ranging and diverse with past experience in hand held computing, rugged displays and processor and multi-function naval consoles. Design for manufacture in both high and low volumes is a key skillset. This complements the availability our manufacturing facilities in the UK and offshore.
The team is well versed in providing the agility and value for money solutions demanded by the modern Defence Prime Contractors of today. Taking best of breed CoTs components with and providing innovative solutions to ruggedisation we are able to match the desires for the flexibility of commercial technologies without any compromise on battlefield performance.
